GRUENE

Driving along my favorite part of I-35 corridor, one can understand that change is the only constant. The last time I was here is over a decade ago. My favorite stretch of the corridor used to be between Austin and San Antonio. Today, I-35 is a strip of awfully busy commercial developments. Aha, that explains the new 85mph tollway! Where is little Buda, where is little Kyle?  Change is good we say. The problem is that I'm looking for a comforting                                                           feeling just to realize that it is hard to find once you pass Town Lake in Austin. Wait a minute, even Town Lake is not Town Lake anymore. It's Lady Bird Lake. Excusez-moi Madame, I would have prefered your name on top of another library at UT, next to LBJ's I want my memories back!!! Then comes the mirage of GRUENE! Finally an intact spot, not really a mirage. Does it have to be a historic place to preserve itself?????  In fact, it is one of my favorite

Unwinding

I sure did take my time unwinding, laying my paint tubes and brushes for weeks all over the place, "distracted" by work or should I say, it's the second half of the semester and work reaches its peak. This is exactly when I need to paint and it becomes forcefully sporadic. Then comes uncertainty: is it done? I don't think so. Something is missing. I add a brush stroke here and there and leave the canvas in an annoying place, it has to be visible to me so I can decide when it's done. Weeks passed by and the canvas is still in the house's traffic area. As a matter of fact, I could not decide on this one. I just left it there too long and I know that it has to come to an end. Just last night, the black lining finally brought closure to my unnecessary drama. Enfin!!!!

Color land

sold It snowed all day. Every bit of land was covered with shiny white crystals. A beautiful, serene, pure landscape! This is when I  decided to disturb this peaceful image by taking my bike to colorful fantasy trail. While mixing colors, my eyes stayed fixated on the majesty of nature through my window. Joyful site, accompanied by the 1st movement of Mozart's piano concerto number 24. Reality and mind, what a contrast!

Unconventional calligraphy

Just having fun with my new paint.
